Patch 1.02 Notes

COOL&CREATE posted Ver.1.02 on Steam news on 19 August 2026, three days after launch and two days after Ver.1.01. This page copies the public changelog and explains what it means for a normal stream. It is not a balance essay. If Steam later edits the news post, believe Steam.

Read launch notes for day-one store facts. Read Endless mode if you still care about long-session stability from 1.01. Watch the official launch PV in the middle of this article if you have not seen the shipped presentation yet.

Official changelog (Ver.1.02)

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where some images were not displayed correctly on Steam Deck.
  • Fixed other bugs.

Adjustments

  • Adjusted the boss marker so that it appears at a closer distance than before.
  • Adjusted the spawn location of “Go for it! Wriggle!” to make it easier to find.
  • Slightly reduced the speed of the projectiles fired by “Kochiya JK Brando.”

The studio closed the note by thanking bug reports and asking players to keep enjoying the game. File new issues on Steam discussions, the board named on official links.

What Steam Deck players should do

Steam does not list Steam Deck as a verified target on the marketing copy this wiki tracked at launch, but people already boot the Windows build on Deck hardware. Broken images are a presentation bug, not a new mode. After 1.02, reinstall or verify files if a portrait, UI plate, or meme sprite still shows as a blank tile. Then check system requirements for the Windows baseline the studio actually published: 64-bit Windows 10/11, 8 GB RAM, Intel UHD Graphics 620 class GPU, about 1 GB disk.

If the Deck still opens on the wrong virtual display, prefer windowed or borderless the same way desktop players do. Patch 1.02 does not invent a Deck-only control scheme. Movement and menus still follow the defaults from controls and the WASD defaults added in 1.01.

Boss markers and late-stage clarity

A closer boss marker sounds small. On a busy meme screen it is not. Internet Survivor Survivors fills the playfield with walkers, likes, and your own evolves. Launch players already lose Flandre Scarlet under spell-card fireworks. Pulling the marker in earlier helps you stop kiting the wrong direction during the stage-five spike described in How to complete stages.

It does not change Remilia’s rule that some shots stop being deletable. Use How to beat Remilia and the boss roster for that. The marker is a pathing aid, not a new heal fountain.

“Go for it! Wriggle!” and Kochiya JK Brando

Both names are meme enemies, not mansion finals. Wriggle is the insect fairy people already expected from Touhou; the patch says her “Go for it! Wriggle!” spawn was hard to find and is now easier. Treat that as a pickup or event clarity fix, not a new playable. Kochiya JK Brando is a song-world shitpost (the “Internet Survivor” lyric family), and 1.02 slightly slows her projectiles. That is a fairness tweak for viewers who were eating shots they could barely read.

Neither change rewrites the 30-level budget. Keep using the weapon tier list, best builds, and the build planner. Do not rebuild your whole kit because a meme fairy is easier to spot.

How this patch sits next to 1.01

  • 1.01 fixed Endless crashes, Z-key Cancel resets, WASD defaults, prologue replay, and Steam Cloud config sync.
  • 1.02 cleans Deck images, tightens boss radar, and softens two named trash threats.

Together they are a comfort week, not a content drop. There is still one playable, still about eight weapons, still a short seven-stream climb. The review opinion does not flip because Brando shoots slower. The development timeline now ends on 19 August 2026 instead of “waiting for a numbered patch.”

After you update

  1. Confirm the client says 1.02 in the news toast or local build string.
  2. On Deck, spot-check portraits and UI plates.
  3. Play one short campaign stream and notice whether boss markers appear sooner.
  4. Only then return to Endless if you still farm hashtags.

If a future 1.03 changes the level cap or adds a second streamer, this page stays historical and a new child appears under the Updates Hub. Until then, treat 1.02 as the live comfort baseline for keyboard, Deck, and meme-trash readability.

The useful skill is still the same: protect viewer count, spend Likes like they are scarce, and stop hugging sisters when bullets stop deleting.
